Linkerd has used Gateway API to talk about managing different classes of traffic since Linkerd 2.12, and folks all over the Kubernetes ecosystem are jumping on the Gateway API bandwagon. This "most collaborative API in Kubernetes" is, by most accounts, proving very successful.
Great! So what is it?
Join special guest Shane Utt, Gateway API maintainer, for this deep dive into what Gateway API is, what it isn't, how to use it, what you should expect, and what to stay away from! We'll cover some history, a lot of current best practices, and — as always — the critical gotchas of Gateway API and Linkerd.
This is a hands-on workshop, so it's important that you arrive prepared with a Kubernetes cluster, local Backstage workspace, and the Linkerd CLI installed on your machine! We'll use BEL 2.17. Check out the BEL Getting Started Guide for specific instructions on how to set that up.(If you don't want to do the hands-on portion, you are welcome to just listen in. But it won't be as fun!)
