Linkerd, a Deep Dive into the Service Mesh

Ever wondered how Linkerd looks under the hood? In this deep dive session, Linkerd core maintainer Zahari Dichev walks you through Linkerd’s ins and outs. He also discusses the service mesh’s new multi-cluster functionality released in 2.8. You’ll learn how traffic in Linkerd is routed transparently across clusters based only on native Kubernetes primitives. Zahari concludes with a demo of Linkerd’s traffic shifting features that split traffic between services living on different clusters.

Validate Linkerd on your own Kubernetes Cluster

Is your Linkerd installation running at peak performance? At our September Linkerd Community Meetup, Mayank Shan presents the work he’s been doing on conformance validation as part of Google’s Summer of Code. By running a set of tests on your cluster, you can sleep comfortably at night knowing all of Linkerd’s functionality works with your specific cluster’s configuration. Mayank discusses why conformance validation is needed, how he implemented it with the help of VMWare’s Sonobuoy, and shows how you could validate your own cluster.

Linkerd case studies: meeting security requirements, reducing latency, and migrating from Istio

As the creators of Linkerd, Buoyant has been, for several years now, in the unique position of helping organizations around the globe adopt the service mesh. From the early days before “service mesh” was even a term, to the latest multi-cluster Kubernetes-based adoption, we’ve seen Linkerd usage grow rapidly across industries and verticals. And the pace is only increasing. But why are organizations adopting Linkerd? In this series of case studies, we showcase the production adoption of Linkerd at Nordstrom, finleap connect, Paybase, and Subspace.
